Merchant Terms

The terms under which a store uses Catalyst Catalogue Sync, including what we publish into your store and what we do with sales data.

The service

Cart Catalyst publishes catalogue content — products, fitment, install guides and related metadata — into your Shopify store, and keeps it current as we release updates. You choose which parts to receive.

What we write to your store

We create and update products, metaobjects, metafields and publications in your store as required to deliver the content you have subscribed to. We do not create, modify or delete your discounts, customers, or orders.

Where the app reads your discounts to publish promotional content, it reads only discounts you have explicitly tagged for that purpose.

Sales data and benchmarking

With your installation you agree that we may process order-derived records to report on how products sell, as described in the Privacy Policy, and that we may include your store's aggregate results in directory-wide benchmarks.

Your right to opt out
You can exclude your store from cross-store benchmarks at any time in the app's settings. It takes effect immediately for every month we have not yet published, and it does not affect your own reporting or any other part of the service.

Figures for a month are computed once, 5 days after that month ends, and are then fixed. Opting out does not change months already published. We do this so that a figure you were shown last quarter is the same figure this quarter — benchmarks are only useful for judging whether you are improving if they hold still — and because a directory average that moved whenever a store left would let others infer that store's numbers from the change.

If you would like your store removed from months that have already been published, contact privacy@cartcatalyst.com and we will do it. Your own monthly totals are what the directory figures are built from, so we can subtract your store from a published month exactly — the result is the figure it would have been had you never been included.

Benchmarks never expose one merchant's data to another. They are computed from monthly aggregates that carry no order, line or customer identifiers.

Availability and changes

We may change the content of a directory, and we publish changes as versioned releases. You may pin your store to a specific release. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the service.

Ending the service

You may uninstall at any time. On uninstall we stop syncing, delete stored access tokens, and delete or anonymise your data in line with the retention periods in the Privacy Policy. Content already published to your store is unaffected.
